Strange Transmitter: what is actually confirmed

BeyondTheseStars.org editorial desk ·

Strange Transmitter is a device name in the official Demo patch 0.1.30, published on 13 June 2024. That patch confirms the name and a localization fix, not a 1.0 construction recipe. A separate media guide describes a device built on mysterious ruins to communicate with Kewa. The publisher-hosted Buildings table, checked 19 October 2026, lists 6 Tools, 8 Electronics, 10 Steel and 2 Glass, with Electronics Plant as the prerequisite. This is a community-wiki record, not a verified dialogue reward or ending table.

The sentence in the patch notes

The official Demo patch 0.1.30 fixes fonts used in the Strange Transmitter for Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean. It predates the October 2026 release. The Ludens beginner guide describes building a strange device on a mysterious ruin; that is media guidance, not an official confirmation of the device’s current recipe or its relationship to every conversation interface.

What to check when story progress stops

  1. Read the current Goals panel and the selected ruin or building panel. The official starter guide identifies Goals as the progression checklist; use the requirements displayed in your save rather than an unverified unlock sequence.
  2. Check the required materials, road, staffing and any atmosphere warning shown by the selected task. Left Ctrl placement does not remove the official road requirement for construction.
  3. If the issue appears during a Kewa conversation rather than construction, compare the exact symptom with Hotfix #3 below. Preserve a separate save before testing a workaround.

Whale Communicator is a different label

The official starter guide identifies Whale Communicator as an interface control. Hotfix #3 fixed a lock where two Kewa conversations overlapped: an active conversation with no available choices, from which you cannot leave the UI, is the stated symptom. The patch prevents new cases but says saves already affected remain broken. That does not prove the Strange Transmitter building and Whale Communicator UI are the same object.

A device or interface name is not evidence of a Nintendo Switch edition. Check supported devices on the download page. For the effects of Kewa’s health and mood, use the Kewa care guide.
